Elvis the elf on the shelf - 24th Dec 2016

Well I got carried away with the excitement of Christmas and forgot to do Elvis' farewell post. He arrived in his sleigh with his cute, cuddly reindeer, bringing the children chocolates and a farewell note. I also forgot to take a photo of his letter before it got recycled, but it basically said that he had enjoyed coming to visit, and he hoped to see them again next Christmas.

I hope you had a great Christmas, we now have a house stuffed even more full of toys and books than we did before. I'll do a Christmas post next time.

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 22nd & 23rd 2016

Elvis has been behaving himself lately, and the last few days he appeared bearing gifts. Maybe he's on his best behaviour, as Father Christmas is on his way soon!!

Elvis the elf on shelf - Dec 21st 2016

Elvis got caught short this morning - they found him having a poo! At least he used the toilet, let's hope he remembered to wash his hands!

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 20th 2016

Elvis had the toys in the playroom enthralled this morning, reading them the classic seasonal story 'Father Christmas' by Raymond Briggs

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 19th 2016

Elvis must have got dizzy tumbling down the stairs last night in a roll of toilet paper! Please excuse the state of our stairs, another work in progress which explains the lack of carpet, bannisters and plastic sheet on the stairs!

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 17th 2016

Barbie was taking Elvis for a spin on her moped this morning. 😀

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 16th 2017

It was a bit harder to find Elvis today as he was way above eye level - hanging from a cable in the kitchen! If you are a regular reader you will know we are renovating our house, which explains the lack of ceilings and wires hanging loose. Of course, it has to be explained to little people that Elvis is being very naughty, and it's not the done thing to swing from electrical cables!

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 15th 2016

After my mammoth Christmas present wrapping session the other day Elvis must have found the empty tubes from the wrapping paper and decided to use them as stilts!

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 14th 2016

Elvis brought with him today a kit to build and decorate  a gingerbread house. Little Boy wanted to build it 'right now' but I had to explain that it would take a bit of time, and they could do it on the weekend.

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 13th 2016

This morning they discovered that Elvis had borrowed the bath toys, and was enjoying a spot of fishing in the kitchen sink. Looks like he's done well - he's hooked a whale!

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 12th 2016

We discovered Elvis this morning tinkering with the Landrover in the playroom. He'd borrowed some of Little Boy's tools, and some toy bricks to jack it up, and was busy tinkering underneath when we found him.

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 11th 2016

Elvis arrived with a friend tonight, and an accompanying letter from Father Christmas...

They decided to call him Robbie, and he has been well loved today.

Diglis Basin walk

14 sleeps until Christmas!!
I fancied going for a walk this afternoon, so took the children to Diglis Basin Marina in Worcester. It's somewhere close to home, but a place I've never visited before. OH spent the day in bed with a migraine so missed out.
It's quite a photo heavy post I'm afraid, and I've let the photos speak for themselves.

Click on the photo below to read the writing. Interesting to read that many years ago the canal was used to carry chocolate crumb to the Cadbury factory!

On the way home we decided to pop into Morrisons in the hope of a bargain. We certainly did - £17.54 worth of goodies for just £3.99!! Tea was easy, I had the risotto so mine was two minutes in the microwave (and eaten out of the carton so no washing up!), the children had bits and pieces and OH still wasn't feeling great so just had beans on toast.

Well done if you made it to the end, at least you got a break from Elf on the Shelf!

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 10th 2016

Please welcome, King Elvis. He obviously had fun last night, making himself a throne out of Little Boy's bricks.

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 9th 2016

Elvis got in a bit of a tangle this morning. Can you spot him? He was a bit harder to find this morning...

I think he was trying to climb to the top to give the fairy a kiss, tripped and got tangled up in the beads. Or he could have just been going to visit Chippey  the elf (we got the DVD 'An Elf's Story' to accompany the Elf on the Shelf and it came with a free christmas decoration).

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 8th 2016

Elvis had a case of the munchies last night, and helped himself to the cereals. He has good taste, as he helped himself to the most expensive box in the cupboard!

Elvis the elf on the shelf - December 7th 2016

Elvis making sure no-one gets caught short...

You'll have to excuse the state of the bathroom, its a work in progress!

Elvis the elf on the shelf - Dec 6th 2016

Elvis obviously has a way with the ladies. Today he's treating Dora the explorer to a picnic. A pretty picnic rug, a plate of Iced Gems and Jelly Tots, and a cup of elf tea - what more could a doll want!

P.S. Sorry this is a day late, had a nightmare with Blogger not saving my posts so I couldn't publish them.
